Takoyaki Fiesta April 14, 2008
Posted by jewel in Personal, Tips. add a commentYesterday I made Takoyaki along with my sister. Takoyaki is a japanese snack which is shaped like a pingpong ball. I got the recipe from the internet *sorry, I forgot the url*. This snack is so delicious. First time I tried Takoyaki was when I bought it at Tako Pochi stall at Mall Kelapa Gading. It was so delicious and I’ve fallen in love immediately :D But then the stall was closed, and I have to buy it from other place. Too bad it’s not as good as the one in Tako Pochi. Right now, I still haven’t made the “right” Takoyaki. Mainly because I missed the important ingredients, the Takoyaki Sauce. I saw one which was sold at a japanese supermarket, but because I am a muslim, I can’t eat any food or drink which contain forbidden ingredients like pig, alcohol, etc. Sadly, most kind of japanese sauce contain Mirin *sweet sake* :( So for you muslim, please be carefull when you eat Japanese food. You should ask the chef what is the food made of.
Check your pagerank, socialmeter, and cool trick March 13, 2008
Posted by jewel in Internet, Misc, Tips. add a commentHere’s a link I found out that you can use to check your pagerank. If you already installed Google Toolbar, you know you didn’t need this tool ;)
Check Pagerank
And for this one, this tool can check your socialmeter. Try it.
Check Socialmeter
This cool trick is kinda pointless, but it can amuse you for a while :D
Here’s how:
Copy & Paste this code below to your url bar. And you will see that all of the images in the previous page you open will start swirling around. Cool, eh?
javascript:R=0; x1=.1; y1=.05; x2=.25; y2=.24; x3=1.6; y3=.24; x4=300; y4=200; x5=300; y5=200;DI=document.images; DIL=DI.length; function A(){for(i=0; i-DIL; i++){DIS=DI[ i ].style;DIS.position=’absolute’; DIS.left=Math.sin (R*x1+i*x2+x3)*x4+x5;DIS.top=Math.cos(R*y1+i*y2+y3)*y4+y5}R++}setInterval(’A()’,5); void(0);
Tips on How to Save Money for Everyday Life February 28, 2008
Posted by jewel in Money, Tips. add a commentFor many people, not having enough money is common problem. I too have this problem ;) My salary as a back office staff at a global company isn’t huge enough to buy all the things I need. So, I do these steps to save more money in my piggy bank :
- Put aside take-out fast-food. Bring home-made lunch to work. This way, I can cut lunch allowance from my list. Plus, I am certain that my lunch is hygienic, healthy, and you could practice your skill in cooking ;)
- Watch DVD at home instead of watching at the cinema. Popcorn and drinks are cheap & easy to be made. As for me, I prefer my own home made popcorn cause I could pour tons of caramel on my popcorn as I like. But watch for diabetes though ;)
- Charge your cellphone, mp3 player, etc at the office. Although it’s not really significant to cut your electricity bill, but hey..at least you try :D
- Walk or jog around your neighborhood instead of going to the gym. Walk as much as you can if the the destination is not far away. It’s good for your heart and body. Besides, you can get to know more about your neighborhood.
- If you like reading a lot, only buy those books which you like best. Stop by at nearest library to read the interesting-but-not-so-worthed-to-be-in-your-collection book. It’s better if you can find a friend with the same interest like you and share the list-to-be-bought book together and swap them if you done reading yours.
- Buy in bulk things that you always need and frequently use like rolled tissue, soap, etc
- Control your desire to buy all the cute things or gadget when you go to the mall. Only bring little cash in your pocket so you can’t afford it and don’t ever use your credit card. Think that all those things are only a short trend. There’s no problem in not following it. You are what you think you are. Don’t let other people put some silly thing into your mind.
That’s what I’m doing. Feel free to add some more if you have any :)
