Living a Frugal Life

Personal October 31st, 2008

In this recession year, we definitely have to cut back many expenses. We do not know when this recession will end, so we have to prepare for the worst to happen. I hope this year’s presidential election will have a great result to make United States’ economy back to normal, or at least get a little better. I Can’t believe I said that, now I sound more like a pessimist person :( Is this recession starting to have an effect for me?

Now let’s get back to our topic, living a frugal life. Sounds pathetic? No, it depends on the person. If we want to survive from this recession, that’s what we should do. Starting from now, shop wisely guys. Don’t waste our money on something that’s not really important and urgent.

For example, instead of buying your lunch at some fancy restaurants, it’s better to bring home-made lunch. It’s healthier, and you know that it’s hygienic. Cancel your membership on your gym. You can walk or jog around your neighborhood. It’s free and you can get to know more about your neighbor. Buy things online to save on gasoline. Although the price is lower now, we can still save our time on the road and do other more important things. The great thing about buying online, we can find many great deals easily, like this one. I found a site which sells low price eyeglasses. I’m quite amaze with the price. Last year I spent about $100 to replace my old eyeglasses. In this site, the price can start from $8. I could get 12 pair of eyeglasses if I found this site earlier :) So guys, let’s lead a frugal life from now. Enjoy our life, but don’t be too hard on yourself :)

7 Days Ice Podeng

Personal October 31st, 2008

Right now, I’m eating my Ice Podeng which I bought last week. I kept it in the freezer, and I forgot to eat it ^^;; Will it be spoiled ? I kinda worried about it since one of the ingredients to make Ice Podeng is coconut milk, and it’s one thing that’s spoiled easily & quickly. But I eat it anyway :D No, I’m not greedy, I just don’t want to waste any food :P Approximately, I’ve entered 5 spoons already into my mouth. The taste is still great :D The peanuts is kinda soggy. I don’t know about the bread. I hope it wasn’t covered with mold ^^;; Oh my..this is kinda silly ^^;; I hope I don’t catch food poisoning by eating this ice ^^;;

Kim Ji Hoon Mania Syndrome

Personal October 30th, 2008

Following my previous post about Korean drama that I’m watching right now, I think I’m catching Kim Ji Hoon mania syndrome ^^;; The signals?

  • I’ve searched any info about him for the past 2 day. Photos, music video, other dramas that he was in, drooling over his photos, etc etc
  • I can’t wait to watch the next episodes of Matchmaker’s Lover (aka Love & Marriage). So I browsed the internet, found the episodes on Viikii.net, and watch the episodes until very late night. Last night I even slept at 1.30 am *usually I sleep at 10.00 pm ^^;;*
  • I listen to the Love & Marriage OST for thousands time ^^Especially the song called Zza Zza La by As One. Download the song now, and I’m sure you’ll love it ^^
  • I plan to start learning Korean Language so I can talk to Kim Ji Hoon *hahaha* My sister’s major is Korean Language. She better teach me if she still want to use my computer ;D *threatening pose*

Ok, maybe that’s all for now. I’ll post more of my syndromes if it gets worse *hahaha*

Korean Drama: Matchmaker’s Lover

TV October 22nd, 2008

Korean drama lover, if you have access to KBS World Channel, I strongly suggest you to watch this Korean drama called Matchmaker’s Lover. This drama is so funny. I missed the first episode, but that’s okay since I still could follow the story ^^ This drama is about the story of a divorce lawyer and a re-marriage matchmaker. Strange combination, eh ^^ I love the main actor *as usual :D*His name is Kim Ji Hoon. In this drama, he’s acting very cool and not talking to much, just like Song Seung Hoon did in drama Autumn In My Heart. It finally come to my sense that actually I like a kind of guy like that ^^;;

Here’s the synopsis from KBS World. I hope you can watch it too :)

What would happen if a couple manager and a divorce lawyer fall in love? Couple manager’s task is connecting peoples’ love, and divorce lawyer’s job is detaching people’s relationships. Nevertheless, the two jobs share the same conclusion; it’s love. Ganghyeon is a ‘couple manager’. She manages peoples’ arranged marriages, but dreams about her love marriage. She gets out from work for a marriage fraud, and starts to work as a remarriage couple manager. Unmarried woman, who failed in love, enters into the world of remarriage. Hyeonsu is a ‘divorce lawyer’. He married through the arranged marriage, and got divorced. He’s got the wounded heart about the divorcement, and doesn’t know what true love is. Ironically, he needs to help those who have the same pain and trouble that he has.

Animal Hypnosis

Information, Misc October 19th, 2008

Last night, I was watching interesting program at KBS World. The program called Sponge. In one of its section, they discussed about animal hypnosis. What is exactly animal hypnosis? From what I understood, Animal Hypnosis is an alternate way to put an animal to sleep without using any anesthetic. How? It’s simple. We only need to touch a certain point on animal’s body for a couple of seconds, and then the animal will quickly go to sleep. In that program, we are shown how to hypnotize frog, chicken, and alligator.

Here’s how to do animal hypnosis:

  1. Frog
    Hold the frog with your left hand so its stomach is facing you, then massage its neck gently for about 5 seconds. If it’s done correctly, the frog will quickly fall asleep with a very funny pose
  2. Chicken
    Hold the chicken, put its head under one of its wing, rock it left to right for 5 seconds with medium speed, and you’re done.
  3. Alligator
    This one should be handle with extra care for alligator is a dangerous animal. To calm the alligator, you can rub its eyes. With the help of other person, hold the alligator with the same position as the frog (its stomach is facing you), then press your palm gently on its neck for 5 seconds for a baby alligator and 10 seconds for an adult alligator. And presto, your alligator will be sleeping safe and sound :)

This hypnosis could be done by anybody, it has been proven by the MC of the program. He succeeded in hypnotizing an alligator. This makes me want to try it too, but I’m scared of frog and alligator, so this left me no choice but to hypnotize a chicken ^^;;
